Welcome to Hire Motorcycle (“Hire Motorcycle”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Hire Motorcycle is a Maldives-based online marketplace that connects motorcycle owners and potential renters through our website, hiremotorcycle.com, and the Hire Motorcycle mobile application (collectively, the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, registering as a member, listing a motorcycle, or making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Platform.
1. DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of these Terms:
“Platform” means the Hire Motorcycle website, mobile application and related online services.
“Owner” means a person or business that registers with Hire Motorcycle and lists a motorcycle for rental.
“Renter” means a person who contacts or books a motorcycle listed on the Platform for rental.
“Listing” means a motorcycle advertisement or listing published on the Platform.
“Rental Transaction” means any rental arrangement entered into between an Owner and a Renter.
“User” means any person accessing or using the Platform, including Owners and Renters.
2. NATURE OF HIRE MOTORCYCLE
2.1 Hire Motorcycle operates as an online marketplace and advertising platform.
2.2 Hire Motorcycle does not own, possess, operate or provide the motorcycles listed by Owners unless expressly stated otherwise.
2.3 Hire Motorcycle is not a party to the rental agreement between an Owner and a Renter.
2.4 The rental of a motorcycle is a transaction directly between the Owner and the Renter. The Owner and Renter are responsible for agreeing the rental price, rental period, deposit, handover arrangements and other rental conditions.
2.5 Hire Motorcycle does not guarantee that a Listing will result in a rental transaction.
2.6 Information displayed in Listings is provided by Owners. Hire Motorcycle does not guarantee that all information provided by Owners is complete, accurate, current or suitable for a particular Renter.
3. MEMBERSHIP AND MOTORCYCLE LISTINGS
3.1 A person wishing to advertise a motorcycle must register for an applicable membership plan.
3.2 Membership plans may include free or paid plans as displayed on the Platform from time to time.
3.3 The applicable membership fee, duration and features will be displayed before the Owner subscribes to a paid plan.
3.4 An Owner must provide the information and documents requested by Hire Motorcycle during registration.
3.5 Hire Motorcycle may request a copy of the motorcycle registration certificate and a photograph showing the motorcycle and its registration plate.
3.6 Hire Motorcycle may conduct limited verification for the purpose of confirming the existence and basic identification of a motorcycle.
3.7 Such verification does not constitute certification or confirmation of the motorcycle’s roadworthiness, mechanical condition, insurance status, annual fees, licensing status or full legal compliance.
3.8 Hire Motorcycle may approve, reject, suspend or remove a Listing at its reasonable discretion, including where information or documents appear inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or suspicious.
4. OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
By listing a motorcycle on the Platform, the Owner confirms and agrees that:
4.1 The Owner is the registered owner of the motorcycle or has lawful authority to advertise and arrange its rental.
4.2 All information and documents provided to Hire Motorcycle are genuine, accurate and up to date.
4.3 The motorcycle is legally registered and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
4.4 The Owner is responsible for ensuring that all legally required insurance, annual fees, licences, permits, inspections and other statutory requirements applicable to the motorcycle are valid and current.
4.5 The Owner is responsible for ensuring that the motorcycle is properly maintained and reasonably fit and safe for lawful use.
4.6 The Owner must provide accurate information regarding the motorcycle, including its model, registration number, condition, rental price and availability.
4.7 The Owner must not list a motorcycle that has been stolen, unlawfully possessed, unlawfully modified or otherwise prohibited from being rented or used.
4.8 The Owner must promptly update or remove a Listing if the motorcycle is no longer available, legally eligible for rental or accurately represented by the Listing.
4.9 The Owner is responsible for dealing directly with the Renter regarding the rental, handover, payment, deposit, return of the motorcycle, damage and other rental matters.
4.10 The Owner must comply with all applicable laws and regulations when renting out a motorcycle.
5. RENTER RESPONSIBILITIES
Before renting a motorcycle, the Renter is responsible for satisfying themselves that the motorcycle is suitable and lawful for their intended use.
The Renter agrees that:
5.1 They must hold a valid driving licence or other legally valid authority required to operate the motorcycle in the Maldives.
5.2 They must comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
5.3 They should independently verify the motorcycle’s registration, insurance, annual fee status, roadworthiness and general condition before accepting the motorcycle.
5.4 They should inspect the motorcycle before taking possession and report any visible damage or defects to the Owner.
5.5 They must use the motorcycle responsibly and only for lawful purposes.
5.6 They must not allow an unauthorised person to operate the motorcycle where such use is prohibited by law or the rental agreement.
5.7 They are responsible for fines, penalties, damage, loss or other liabilities arising from their use of the motorcycle, to the extent applicable under the rental agreement and law.
5.8 The Renter should clarify the rental price, deposit, rental period, return conditions and other terms directly with the Owner before accepting the motorcycle.
6. INSURANCE, ANNUAL FEES AND ROADWORTHINESS
6.1 Hire Motorcycle does not independently verify the insurance status, annual vehicle fee status, roadworthiness, mechanical condition or other statutory requirements of every motorcycle listed on the Platform.
6.2 Owners remain responsible for ensuring that their motorcycles comply with all applicable legal requirements.
6.3 Renters should independently verify these matters before accepting a motorcycle for rental.
6.4 A motorcycle appearing on the Platform must not be interpreted as a representation by Hire Motorcycle that the motorcycle is insured, roadworthy, legally compliant or otherwise suitable for rental.
6.5 Hire Motorcycle may request supporting documentation or suspend a Listing where concerns arise regarding legal compliance or safety.
7. RENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN OWNER AND RENTER
7.1 The Owner and Renter are responsible for agreeing the terms of each Rental Transaction.
7.2 Hire Motorcycle does not determine or guarantee:
- rental prices;
- security deposits;
- cancellation terms;
- rental duration;
- fuel arrangements;
- delivery or collection arrangements;
- damage charges;
- refund arrangements; or
- other terms agreed between the Owner and Renter.
7.3 Owners and Renters should clearly agree to these matters before the motorcycle is handed over.
7.4 Hire Motorcycle is not responsible for enforcing the terms of a Rental Transaction between an Owner and Renter.
8. BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
8.1 Where the Platform provides a booking or enquiry facility, the information submitted through the Platform does not necessarily constitute a confirmed rental unless confirmation is expressly provided.
8.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, rental payments are made directly between the Owner and Renter.
8.3 Hire Motorcycle is not responsible for payment disputes, non-payment, refunds, deposits or other financial arrangements between Owners and Renters unless Hire Motorcycle has expressly agreed to process the relevant payment.
8.4 Any membership or subscription fees payable to Hire Motorcycle are separate from rental payments between Owners and Renters.
9. DISPUTES BETWEEN OWNERS AND RENTERS
9.1 Hire Motorcycle is not a party to the Rental Transaction and does not assume responsibility for disputes arising between Owners and Renters.
9.2 Owners and Renters should first attempt to resolve rental-related disputes directly between themselves.
9.3 Hire Motorcycle may, where appropriate, assist with communication or provide information available to it, but is not required to investigate, mediate or determine disputes.
9.4 Hire Motorcycle reserves the right to suspend or remove an account or Listing where there is credible evidence of fraud, unlawful activity, misuse of the Platform, misleading information or violation of these Terms.
9.5 Nothing in these Terms prevents a User from exercising any rights or remedies available under applicable Maldivian law.
10. ACCIDENTS, DAMAGE, LOSS AND THEFT
10.1 Hire Motorcycle is not responsible for accidents, injuries, death, damage, theft, loss, fines, penalties or other consequences arising from the use or rental of a motorcycle listed on the Platform.
10.2 Any accident, damage, loss or theft should be reported to the Owner and, where required, to the relevant authorities and/or insurance provider.
10.3 The Owner and Renter are responsible for complying with their respective legal and contractual obligations following an accident or other incident.
10.4 Hire Motorcycle does not provide insurance coverage for motorcycles, Owners or Renters unless expressly stated otherwise.
11. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
Users must not use the Platform to:
11.1 Provide false, misleading or fraudulent information.
11.2 List a motorcycle without lawful authority to do so.
11.3 List a stolen or unlawfully obtained motorcycle.
11.4 Upload fraudulent, altered or misleading documents.
11.5 Use the Platform for unlawful purposes.
11.6 Attempt to interfere with, damage or gain unauthorised access to the Platform.
11.7 Misuse another person’s identity or personal information.
11.8 Engage in conduct that may harm other Users or the reputation or operation of Hire Motorcycle.
12. VERIFICATION AND REMOVAL OF LISTINGS
12.1 Hire Motorcycle may review information and documents submitted by Owners.
12.2 Hire Motorcycle does not guarantee that every Listing has been independently verified in relation to every aspect of the motorcycle.
12.3 Hire Motorcycle may request additional information or documentation where reasonably necessary.
12.4 Hire Motorcycle may reject, suspend, deactivate or remove any Listing or account if:
- information appears false or misleading;
- documents appear invalid or suspicious;
- the Owner does not have authority to list the motorcycle;
- the motorcycle is reported as stolen or unlawfully used;
- the Listing breaches these Terms;
- the Listing creates a significant risk to Users or Hire Motorcycle; or
- required information is not provided when requested.
13. MEMBERSHIP PLANS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
13.1 Membership plans and prices are displayed on the Platform and may be changed from time to time.
13.2 Current membership options may include Free, Basic, Pro, Fleet and Enterprise plans.
13.3 Paid membership fees must be paid in accordance with the payment terms displayed at the time of subscription.
13.4 Membership fees are separate from motorcycle rental charges.
13.5 Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, subscription fees are non-refundable once the applicable subscription period has commenced, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13.6 Hire Motorcycle may suspend membership where payment is overdue or where the member breaches these Terms.
13.7 A change or termination of membership does not automatically cancel or terminate a rental agreement already entered into between an Owner and Renter.
14. CONTENT AND LISTINGS
14.1 Owners are responsible for the photographs, descriptions, prices and other content they submit.
14.2 Owners grant Hire Motorcycle permission to display and use submitted Listing content for operating, promoting and marketing the Platform.
14.3 Owners must not upload content that infringes another person’s intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights.
14.4 Hire Motorcycle may edit, refuse, remove or deactivate Listing content that breaches these Terms or is considered inappropriate, misleading or unsuitable for the Platform.
15. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
15.1 Hire Motorcycle may collect personal information required to operate the Platform, including name, contact number, National ID or passport details and motorcycle documentation.
15.2 Information submitted by Users may be used for account registration, identity verification, motorcycle Listing verification, customer support, fraud prevention, Platform administration and other legitimate business purposes.
15.3 Personal information and uploaded documents will not be intentionally displayed publicly as part of a motorcycle Listing unless the User has expressly agreed or disclosure is required or permitted by law.
15.4 Users should review the Hire Motorcycle Privacy Policy for information about how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected.
16. PLATFORM AVAILABILITY
16.1 Hire Motorcycle aims to keep the Platform available and functioning properly but does not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
16.2 Hire Motorcycle may temporarily suspend or modify the Platform for maintenance, updates, technical issues, security reasons or other operational requirements.
17. DISCLAIMER
17.1 Information on the Platform is provided primarily for facilitating connections between Owners and Renters.
17.2 Hire Motorcycle does not guarantee the:
- accuracy of every Listing;
- condition or quality of a motorcycle;
- legality of a motorcycle;
- insurance status of a motorcycle;
- roadworthiness of a motorcycle;
- availability of a motorcycle;
- conduct of an Owner or Renter;
- completion of a Rental Transaction; or
- suitability of a motorcycle for a particular purpose.
17.3 Users are responsible for making their own enquiries and decisions before entering into a Rental Transaction.
18. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
18.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hire Motorcycle shall not be responsible for loss, damage, injury, expense or liability arising from or connected with:
- the condition or use of a motorcycle;
- an accident involving a motorcycle;
- a Rental Transaction between an Owner and Renter;
- damage to or loss of a motorcycle;
- theft;
- fines or penalties;
- failure by an Owner or Renter to comply with their obligations;
- inaccurate information provided by a User; or
- disputes between Owners and Renters.
18.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable Maldivian law.
19. INDEMNITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Owner and the Renter (including any client or customer operating the motorcycle) agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hire Motorcycle, its affiliates, and its agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
(a) the Owner or Renter’s breach of these Terms; (b) any unlawful conduct or submission of fraudulent information; or (c) any disputes or unfulfilled obligations arising from the Rental Transaction between the parties.
20. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION
20.1 Hire Motorcycle may suspend or terminate a User’s account where the User:
- breaches these Terms;
- provides false or misleading information;
- engages in fraudulent or unlawful activity;
- misuses the Platform;
- fails to pay applicable membership fees; or
- creates a material risk to other Users or Hire Motorcycle.
20.2 A User may request termination of their account by contacting Hire Motorcycle.
20.3 Termination of an account does not remove obligations or liabilities that arose before termination.
21. Child Safety and Prohibited Conduct
Hire Motorcycle maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of child sexual abuse, exploitation, or illegal content.
Our services are strictly intended for individuals who meet the legal driving age requirements in the Republic of Maldives. We do not permit the use of our Website or App for:
- Uploading, sharing, or distributing unlawful or exploitative content;
- Any activity involving minors that violates applicable laws;
- Any conduct that endangers the safety or well-being of a child.
If we become aware of any suspected illegal activity involving minors, we reserve the right to:
- Immediately suspend or terminate access to our services;
- Remove any related content;
- Report the matter to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
Users agree to comply fully with all applicable child protection laws and regulations when using our services
22. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
21.1 Hire Motorcycle may update these Terms from time to time.
21.2 Updated Terms will be published on the Platform with an updated “Last Updated” date.
21.3 Continued use of the Platform after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, subject to applicable law.
23. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Maldives.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a User from exercising any rights available to them under applicable Maldivian law.

Hire Motorcycle is an online marketplace, not the owner or rental provider of the motorcycles listed on the Platform.
Motorcycle Owners are responsible for ensuring that their motorcycles are legally registered, properly maintained, insured where required, compliant with applicable requirements and suitable for lawful rental.
Renters are responsible for verifying the motorcycle’s condition, legal requirements, insurance status and suitability before accepting a motorcycle and for holding the appropriate licence and complying with applicable laws.
Any rental agreement is between the Owner and Renter. Hire Motorcycle does not guarantee or become a party to that rental agreement.
